In the wake of hardships created by the COVID-19 pandemic, economic crisis, natural disasters, and the current culture wars, Houston’s BIPOC arts community is coming forth—artists, arts organizations, and collectives are building on the work of those that came before them and collaborating together to co-create a thriving multicultural Houston that realizes their vision for an equitable future.

BANF is a short-term initiative that aims to infuse support into the work the BIPOC arts community is already doing to realize its own future. BANF has heard the call from BIPOC artists, organizations, and collectives that what’s needed is abundant and equitable investments; shifting power, narratives, and systemic barriers; supporting space to dream and create; fostering a network; and providing technical supports. We aim to continue to catalyze support and transformative change in these areas.
